Brand identity framework and packaging design for the sun-care product range of InterMed.

Define
A mission to redesign Intermed’s Luxurious Suncare series, embodying the company’s scientific expertise while evolving into a lifestyle brand. The challenge lies in developing a versatile visual system adaptable to 50 different packaging formats and various product sub-categories, all while maintaining an elegant presence on the shelf. Inspired by themes of freshness, nourishment, and local essence, the approach reflects a holistic perspective on sun protection and skincare, ensuring that each product resonates with the luxurious experience of the Greek sun.
Design
All packaging in the range features a cap with a soothing shade of blue, drawing inspiration from both the sky and the hydrating qualities of water, creating a consistent theme across all products. The central graphic element—a perfect circle—symbolises the sun that envelops us, representing protection and care against its rays. This design choice enhances the subtlety of the brand’s identity and serves as a gentle reminder of the importance of skin protection during sunny days and beyond. To address the diverse requirements of over 50 packaging designs, a custom typeface was developed in collaboration with George Triantafyllakos (atypical.gr), capturing the brand’s innovative and scientific essence. For the limited series “Luxurious SunCare Greek Islands,” we partnered with the artist Tania Cimatti to create a collection of illustrations characterised by a freer line, inspired by the Cyclades and their organic beauty.
Luxurious SunCare’s packaging employs recycled plastic and recyclable paper materials, reflecting an environmentally responsible design approach that aligns with Intermed SA’s commitment to minimising its ecological footprint while delivering superior products featuring non-toxic filters, lightweight textures, and antioxidant benefits.
